Research on the potential biological activity of red alga Symphyocladia spp. has been limited to latiuscula, which is widely used as a food ingredient in Korea. Here, we examined another species, linearis, found Korea and was reported new species 2013. The aim this study evaluate antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial properties 70% ethanol extract S. linearis. Antioxidant activity, evaluated using radical scavenging assays, revealed half maximal inhibitory concentration values for 2,2-diphenyl-1-picryl-hydrazyl-hydrate (DPPH) 2,2?-azino-bis-3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS) 34.57 11.70 ?g/mL algal extract, respectively.
